_{Why did you choose DWS?
I already knew that I wanted to work in portfolio management, so DWS, as a leading German asset manager, felt like a natural choice. The graduate programme offered a direct link to the investment side while still giving me the opportunity to explore     different teams and gain a broader understanding of the business.}

_{What has been your biggest highlight so far?
It is difficult to choose one specific moment, but the biggest highlights have always come from the people around me. It started with a great introduction week and a group of fellow graduates who continue to make the programme a lot more fun. During my rotations, I have also appreciated how open people are to hearing my perspective and involving me in their work, giving me the opportunity to take on responsibility and learn by actually doing things.}

_{What have you learned during the programme?
The rotations have shown me what portfolio management looks like beyond the theory. I have learned that being well prepared does not remove uncertainty. A lot of the role is about getting up to speed on unfamiliar topics, making sense of different perspectives and forming a view when there is no obvious right answer.}

_{What advice would you give future applicants?
Don’t overprepare a version of yourself that you think the company wants to see. Be honest about what interests you and use the rotations to find out what genuinely suits you - not just what sounds cool. Also, don’t underestimate how important it is to feel comfortable in the company and with the people around you. That is genuinely one of DWS’s strengths.}
