This internship is available for a length of between 3 and 6 months, starting on any date between 18 January and 30 April 2027. If you are not available during this period, there may be Summer or Fall 2027 Internships available, which open in September 2026.

About the DWS Internship  

The DWS Internship offers a unique and exciting opportunity to gain a wide range of practical experiences through individual projects, speaker sessions and networking events. The Product Division is looking for interns in the following areas:

  • Digital
  • Xtrackers (Passive)
  • Structuring

About the Digital Products Team

The Digital Products team develops and executes the digital product strategy of DWS, with a focus on leveraging emerging technologies such as blockchain to enhance the existing product suite and drive the development of new digital products and embedded solutions. This includes delivery across the value chain, orchestrating investment products, technology capabilities, and cross-functional deliverables into a cohesive solution. The team continuously monitors emerging digital market trends to identify and potentially capitalize on new opportunities.

As our DWS Intern, you will:

  • Support strategic digital initiatives from ideation to implementation. 
  • Collaborate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Conduct research on market trends and emerging technologies. 
  • Assist in the development of presentations and strategic documents for the senior leadership team. 
  • Work in a dynamic, international team that values innovation and collaboration. 

About the XTrackers (Passive) Team

The Xtrackers Product Specialists and Development team is part of a global platform with presence in New York, London, Frankfurt, Pune / Mumbai, and Luxembourg. The team is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of ETFs and other index-based solutions (e.g. ETCs or mandates) – from initial idea generation as well as index and product design through to implementation and ongoing product management. In addition, the team develops product-related content and plays an active role in client engagements and industry events. They collaborate closely with global Sales and Investment teams in Portfolio Management and Capital Markets, building and maintaining strong relationships across the organization.

As our DWS Intern, you will:

  • Support the team in the development and implementation of product and index development initiatives, thought leadership and content, and strategic or product-related projects
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives and innovation efforts to strengthen Xtrackers’ positioning as a leading provider of ETFs and indexing solutions  
  • Help create thought leadership, educational, and marketing-related content for internal and external audiences
  • Interact with a wide range of stakeholders, including index providers, portfolio managers and client coverage specialists, to support the execution of product-related projects

About the Structuring Team

The DWS Structuring team develops investment solutions for our retail and institutional investors worldwide. While the focus of activities lies in quantitative aspects, we also analyze regulatory and / or accounting issues relating to the developed investment solutions.

As our DWS Intern, you will:

  • Work closely with the Structuring team on the development of new investment solutions and product concepts 
  • Support the development of complex model-based Strategic Asset Allocations for institutional clients 
  • Perform simulations and sensitivity analyses of various investment strategies and portfolio compositions and support the development of the applications used for this purpose in Python 
  • Prepare documents supporting sales, product specialists and structurers in communicating complex investment solutions to clients 
  • Learn about portfolio structuring and development of regulatory capital sensitive/efficient investment solutions 

The above teams are looking for:

  • Advanced English language skills; German skills are beneficial but not required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strong interest in financial markets or asset management; prior experience is not required
  • Strong analytical skills with quantitative concepts and good attention to detail
  • Curious, proactive mindset with strong communication, organizational and teamwork skills 
  • Structuring / Xtrackers (Passive) teams: Good programming skills in Python/R/Jav
  • XTrackers (Passive) team: Good experience with project management and structured project execution
  • Digital team: Foundational knowledge in at least one of the following areas - blockchain, digital assets, tokenization, stablecoins, cryptocurrencies, embedded finance, APIs, or WealthTech
  • You must meet all core and role eligibility requirements

Eligibility

  • Bachelor student graduating in 2027 or 2028 OR  Master student graduating in 2028, OR Gap year between your bachelor and masters degree.
  • Less than 12 months of full-time relevant work experience (excluding internships).
