This internship is available for a length of between 3 and 6 months, starting on any date between 18 January and 30 April 2027. If you are not available during this period, there may be Summer or Fall 2027 Internships available, which open in September 2026.

About the DWS Internship  

The DWS Internship offers a unique and exciting opportunity to gain a wide range of practical experiences through individual projects, speaker sessions and networking events. With strong support from mentors and managers, you will be challenged to grow while gaining valuable insights into the world of Asset Management. This is an excellent way to determine whether a career in Financial Services & Asset Management meets your personal aspirations.    

Subject to performance, successful interns may be offered a place on the DWS Graduate P.A.C.E. Program the following year. 

About the Team

The Alternatives Product division is responsible for shaping, developing, managing and growing DWS's Alternatives product platform across private markets, real assets and alternative investment strategies. Working at the intersection of investments, distribution, clients and regulation, the team oversees the full product lifecycle—from strategy, innovation and product development through launch, capital raising, platform development, lifecycle management and ongoing product oversight. In close partnership with stakeholders across Investment, Client Coverage, Legal, Operations, Tax, Risk and Compliance, the division is focused on delivering innovative client solutions, supporting business growth and ensuring the long-term success and scalability of the Alternatives franchise.  

The Alternatives Product team is looking for interns in the following areas in Germany:  

  • Product Specialists:  LRA or Private Credit
  • Product Strategy & Lifecycle
  • Business Development

As our DWS Intern, you will:

  • Support the preparation of presentations, reports and management materials related to product strategy, product development and business initiatives
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Investments, Client Coverage, Product Development, Legal, Operations and other functions to support the delivery of business objectives.
  • Support strategic initiatives that help shape and grow DWS's Alternatives business.
  • Assist in the development, launch and ongoing management of alternative investment products and solutions.
  • Support capital raising and business development activities through the preparation of client materials, market research, competitor analysis and engagement with Product Specialists and distribution teams.

The Team is looking for:

  • Advanced English language skills, German skills are beneficial but not required
  • Proficiency in MS Office/Excel/PowerPoint
  • Coding skills are a plus but not required
  • Comfortable working with and organizing financial, product and market data with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Interest in financial markets and alternative investments, with a willingness to learn about products, fund structures and capital raising.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • You must meet all core and role eligibility requirements

Eligibility

  • Advanced English language skills, German skills are beneficial but not required.
  • Bachelor student graduating in 2027 or 2028 OR Master student graduating in 2028 OR Gap Year between your bachelor and masters degree.  
  • Less than 12 months of full-time relevant work experience (excluding internships).
  • Availability for a full-time 3 – 6 month internship; see start date for more details.
