About the DWS Internship  

The DWS Internship offers a unique and exciting opportunity to gain a wide range of practical experiences through individual projects, speaker sessions and networking events. With strong support from mentors and managers, you will be challenged to grow while gaining valuable insights into the world of Asset Management. This is an excellent way to determine whether a career in Financial Services & Asset Management meets your personal aspirations.    

Subject to performance, successful interns may be offered a place on the DWS Graduate P.A.C.E. Program the following year. 

About the Team

The Corporate Strategy Team, which is part of the Executive Division, manages the full corporate strategy process – from analysis to strategy formulation, execution, and implementation. It is organized along three teams: Strategy Development, Strategy Implementation and M&A.

The Strategy Development team works closely with senior leadership to shape long‑term priorities, assess strategic positioning, and support decision‑making across the organization. It acts as a thought partner to the Executive Board and business leadership, providing fact‑based analysis and strategic insight on the evolution of the asset management industry. 

As our DWS Intern, you will:

  • Support the development and execution of DWS’ global corporate strategy, working closely with the global Strategy team and senior stakeholders across regions and business divisions  
  • Conduct deep‑dive analyses on competitors, peer groups, and selected markets to identify trends, best practices, and strategic gaps relative to DWS  
  • Prepare strategic assessments, presentations, and discussion materials for the Executive Board and senior management, including decision papers and management briefings  
  • Support the evaluation and prioritization of strategic initiatives and growth opportunities, including the development of qualitative and quantitative business cases  
  • Contribute to industry, market, and thematic research to support forward‑looking strategic discussions  

The Team is looking for:

  • Advanced German (C1) and advanced English language skills
  • Very good knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Strong analytical skills and intellectual curiosity around the key trends driving the asset management industry 
  • Familiarity with project work and the preparation of decision papers
  • Interest in consulting, investment management, corporate strategy, or related business topics
  • Highly driven and motivated individual with a proven ability to execute tasks and initiatives 
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration/communication skills in German and English 
  • Studies in business management, economics, science or similar fields preferred but not required
  • You must meet all core and role eligibility requirements

Eligibility

  • Advanced German (C1) and advanced English language skills.
  • Bachelor student graduating in 2027 or 2028 OR Master student graduating in 2028 OR Gap Year between your bachelor and masters degree.  
  • Less than 12 months of full-time relevant work experience (excluding internships).
  • Availability for a full-time 3 – 6 month internship; see start date for more details.
