Start Date

Internships in Germany are between 3 months and 6 months long. You must be available for the entire internship duration.  

You can apply for one of two seasonal intakes: Summer or Autumn. Each intake offers a flexible start date within the timeframes listed below and the internship end date can be outside the timeframe.

  • Summer Intake Start Dates: May 1 – July 31, 2026
  • Autumn Intake Start Dates: August 1 – December 31, 2026

About the DWS Internship

The DWS Internship offers a unique and exciting opportunity to gain a wide range of practical experiences through individual projects, speaker sessions and networking events. With strong support from mentors and managers, you will be challenged to grow while gaining valuable insights into the world of Asset Management. This is an excellent way to determine whether a career in Financial Services & Asset Management meets your personal aspirations.

Subject to performance, successful interns may be offered a place on the DWS Graduate P.A.C.E. Program the following year.

About the Team

The DWS Communications, Brand and CSR division, is the interface for external and internal communication with all relevant stakeholder groups. We deal with media relations, social media, political and regulatory communications, corporate social responsibility, internal communications, multi-channel content, and brand management. You will be working in a sub-division with 50 staff members around the globe. Our remit includes support for the strategy, key growth areas and financial goals for DWS, strengthening the ‘human face’ of DWS and constantly renewing our brand strategy and narrative. We undertake constantly active and reactive media relations, contribute to social media, owned web content, and DWS intranet, as well as public and regulatory affairs work.

About the Social Media Team

The Social Media Team plays a key role in shaping and amplifying DWS’s voice across digital platforms. We manage the firm’s presence on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube, to engage with clients, stakeholders, and the broader public. Our work includes content creation, campaign planning, performance analysis, and trend monitoring to ensure DWS remains a thought leader in the digital space.

Help us tell the story of DWS and connect with audiences around the world.

As our DWS Intern, you will:

  • Support the planning and execution of social media campaigns across platforms
  • Assist in drafting and scheduling posts, stories, videos and other digital content
  • Monitor engagement metrics and help prepare performance reports
  • Research industry trends and competitor activity to inform strategy
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to source content and align messaging
  • Help maintain the content calendar and ensure timely delivery of assets

About the Media Relations Team

About the Public Affairs & Regulatory Strategy Team

The Public Affairs & Regulatory Strategy team is responsible for protecting and furthering DWS’s reputation amongst stakeholders in the political and regulatory communities worldwide, with a focus on Berlin and Brussels. The team provides early information for the DWS senior management on relevant political developments and upcoming regulation. We act as a coordinator for relationships to trade associations in which DWS is a member. We also coordinate the development and drafting of DWS-specific positions on political/regulatory debates (e.g. consultation responses), positioning DWS as a thought leader on relevant public-policy issues.

As our DWS Intern you will:  

  • Support the conceptualization & execution of the engagement plan to increase DWS' visibility as a leading voice of the asset management industry with relevant public sector stakeholders area, by monitoring political information sources and carrying out research as required
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on relevant meetings, events and information
  • Prepare first drafts of emails, letters and briefings for external stakeholders
  • Draft analyses of regulatory texts, upcoming legislation and political events relevant for the financial system
  • Cooperate with colleagues within Communications to leverage various communications channels where appropriate

The Team is looking for:

  • Advanced (C1) German and advanced English language skills
  • Familiarity with media systems and major social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, etc)
  • Strong interest in digital communications and social media strategy (social media only)
  • Basic knowledge of politics in Germany and the EU  (public affairs only)
  • Interest in financial sector, prior experience is not required
  • Creativity and attention to detail

Eligibility

  • Advanced (C1) German and advanced English skills

You are:

  • Enrolled in your penultimate year of your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree; or
  • Enrolled in your last year of your Bachelor’s degree and intending on enrolling in a Master’s degree afterwards; or  
  • On a gap-year in between your Bachelor and Master's degree.
  • You must be available to start your program in Spring, Summer or Autumn 2026 for between 3 to 6 months.
  • You must have less than 12 months of full-time, relevant work experience (excluding other internships).
  • Familiarity with media systems and major social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, etc)
  • Strong interest in digital communications and social media strategy (social media only)
  • Basic knowledge of politics in Germany and the EU  (public affairs only)
  • Interest in financial sector, prior experience is not required
  • Creativity and attention to detail
