About the DWS Internship  

The DWS Internship offers a unique and exciting opportunity to gain a wide range of practical experiences through individual projects, speaker sessions and networking events. With strong support from mentors and managers, you will be challenged to grow while gaining valuable insights into the world of Asset Management. This is an excellent way to determine whether a career in Financial Services & Asset Management meets your personal aspirations.    

Subject to performance, successful interns may be offered a place on the DWS Graduate P.A.C.E. Program the following year.

About the Team

Join a global team of around 40 professionals in Liquid Investment Risk and dive into the world of financial risk management with real impact. As an intern, you’ll work on exciting projects like daily risk monitoring, and data analysis using tools like Aladdin Explore. It’s a chance to learn how to connect the dots in complex financial systems, build your network, and grow in a team that’s passionate about understanding what could go wrong before it does.

As our DWS Intern, you will:

  • Support the investment Risk Management department with daily risk analytics oversight for globally managed funds
  • Perform risk assessment analysis across several asset classes, strategies for the entire fund range
  • Review risk models and in-depth analysis of model parameters and updates
  • Support the Risk Management department in global and local projects 
  • Review risk results and risk profiles with Senior Risk Managers and Head of Risk
  • Work closely with investment specialists, analysts and risk colleagues from across the globe (Luxembourg, Berlin, London, Hong Kong, New York, etc.)

The Team is looking for:

  • Advanced English language skills, German language skills are beneficial but not required
  • Student in the field of economics, quantitative finance, mathematics, or a related subject
  • Familiarity with financial instruments (e.g. equity, fixed income, financial derivatives, etc.)
  • Good analytical skills and the ability to work independently
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Good knowledge of financial markets, asset management and/or risk management is beneficial
  • Experience with software programs (e.g. SQL, Python, VBA) is beneficial

Eligibility

  • Advanced English language skills; German language skills are beneficial but not required
  • Enrolled in your penultimate year of your Master´s degree or
  • Completing this internship as a gap year between your bachelor's and masters degree
  • Less than 12 months of full-time relevant work experience (excluding internships)
  • Available for a full-time 6 month internship with a July 2026 start date
