About the DWS P.A.C.E. Graduate Program 

Our 2-year P.A.C.E. Graduate Program begins with an intensive onsite onboarding program with all global P.A.C.E. participants in Frankfurt, Germany. You will then join your assigned division and complete four six-month rotations there. Throughout the program you will have the opportunity to implement your technical training in a practical setting with expert guidance and to grow your network within DWS.

About the Team

The Chief Financial Office (CFO) Division comprises of three sub functions (Finance, Risk and Procurement), which allows for a broad oversight of different corporate activities. All sub-teams provide timely, accurate, relevant and independent financial information and analysis to meet internal and external reporting requirements, drive resource allocation, challenge and enable business decisions, and safeguard the financial position of the firm. Our work helps to maximize the sustainable performance of DWS across its divisions.  

Finance ensures that DWS meets all financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated and stock-listed company. To maintain DWS’s financial health, we make sure our firm meets its internal and external goals – making accurate and transparent reporting essential for identifying risk & opportunities. As a partner of the business, we perform deep dives, sensitivity analyses on the financial performance, competitor benchmarking, and also support strategic initiatives and portfolio measures. Finance is a global team of 150+ employees in Germany, UK, US and APAC; and covers a broad range of activities like Group Finance, Tax, Investor Relations, Planning & Performance Management and Treasury.   

Risk is a team of 130+ colleagues with a global presence across more than 12 countries. Risk has group-wide responsibility for the management of corporate and fiduciary risks as well as for the comprehensive control of risk, and ongoing development of methods for risk measurement. In addition, Risk is responsible for monitoring, analysing, and reporting risk on a comprehensive basis. Risk and capital management is performed via a framework of principles, organizational structures and measurement and monitoring processes that are closely aligned with the underlying business activities and associated risk profile.  

Procurement is a global team of 50+ colleagues based out of UK, Germany, India and the Philippines. The function services all our business globally.  The teams consist of  

  • Strategic Procurement: sourcing, commercial and contractual negotiations, contracting, working very closely with our business stakeholders and Legal, strategic supplier partnerships - covering commercial, contract and service relationship management of our key, strategic supplier partners  
  • Third Party Risk Management: pre and post deal management of risk across several risk types, and management of our outsourcing portfolio
  • Procurement Operations: transactional procurement covering supplier enablement, purchase order and contract maintenance processes

As our DWS Graduate in our team, you will:

  • Gain a deep insight into how the Finance, Risk, Procurement functions work, interact with other divisions and stakeholder as well as enable the firm’s success
  • Collaborate with CFO leaders and team members to assist with the development and execution of key CFO strategies  
  • Support our teams to provide financial analyses and insights to DWS steering and management
  • Gain insight into the expectation of our regulators, standards and stakeholders  
  • Monitor, analyze, and report data on firm’s financials and portfolios’ investment risks
  • Support the development of solutions to measure, analyze, and report financials and risks
  • Gain deep insight into our supplier portfolio and be actively involved in analysis and implementation cost savings opportunities and support commercial & contract negotiations across various spend categories including Banking Services, Market Data Services, Information Technology and Professional Services
  • Support a strategic Procurement led project within our Market Data Services team, including transition & implementation a market leading technology across all of our global locations

The Team is looking for:

  • Advanced English skills; German beginner skills (A1) are preferred but not required
  • Proactive, Agile, Curious and Entrepreneurial Graduates
  • Innovators, creative thinkers, and collaborators 
  • Advanced MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
  • Driven to exceed expectations and committed to go above and beyond to achieve outstanding results  
  • Highly engaged team player with a curious mind and eagerness to contribute
  • Interest in inner workings of financial markets and private investing; prior experience is preferred but not required
  • Experience with BI systems or programming languages is preferred but not required

Eligibility

  • Must have advanced English skills; German beginner skills (A1) are preferred but not required.
  • Must have graduated or be on track to graduate from a bachelor's or master's degrees in 2025 or 2026.
  • Must have less than 12 months of full-time relevant work experience (excluding internships).
